Welcome to DVRCs program for helping charitable organizations help the world's reefs. The program is a voluntary program where you may designate an item to be given to a person in exchange for a donation to the charity of your choice. The amount may be set by the person donating the coral or be determined through bidding. If you are posting a coral into the program, please complete as much of the donor frag program forms as you can and post in a separate thread. Forms are available in another thread at the top of this board.
To place an item into the program:
- This program is open to all members regardless of membership status.
- Each donated item should be placed in it's own thread on this board.
- In order to maximize the odds of corals being successful in the new system, please post information about the corals and the system the coral came from. Forms for this can be found in another thread at the top of this board. This is highly recommended.
- Include the charity to receive the donation in your post. Any charity recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)3 organization is allowed.
DVRC suggests Coral Restoration (www.coralrestoration.org) be considered as the beneficiary of your donation.- Include either the winning amount or if an auction post the opening bid amount and when the auction will close. Provide instructions for how to make the donation if that is appropriate.
To participate in the bidding:
- Post your bid in the same thread as the item donated
- First person to match the requested amount or the highest bidder at the close of the auction wins the item
- The winner makes the donation directly to the charity or by following the instructions., as appropriate
- Provide proof of the donation to the person who listed the coral and to the DVRC BOD at
board@delvalreefclub.org- If the winning bidder does not provide proof within three business days, the item can be reopened. The previous winning amount stays in affect and for auctions, a new closing date is posted in the thread.
- The donating member gives the item to the winning bidder
Total donations generated by the program will be tracked in the status thread at the top of this board.
